What ContactOut does well
- A flat price for lookups: $49 a month covers up to 2,000 email credits under fair use, about 2.5 cents each if you use them all, and under 2 cents on yearly billing.
- A real free plan: 5 emails, 5 phones and 5 exports a day with no card, enough to test accuracy on your own targets before paying.
- The Chrome extension works on LinkedIn, including Recruiter, and the search portal, Gmail enrichment and bulk sheets cover list building without leaving the browser.
- Regional pricing: if you never target the US, Canada or the UK, the same plans cost about half.
- An API and an MCP server for teams wiring contact data into their own tools and agents.
Where it falls short
- Unlimited is not unlimited: the terms cap paid plans at 2,000 email and 1,000 phone credits a month, and exports are capped separately at 300 or 600 a month.
- One user per company on every self-serve plan; a second seat means the quoted Team plan.
- The 350 million profiles, 40 million companies, 99 percent confidence and 75 percent coverage figures are the company's own claims.
- The struck-through $99 and $199 list prices on the pricing page have no stated end date, so treat $49 and $99 as the real prices.
- Built for recruiters first: the campaigns tool is basic next to a dedicated sequencer, and the public terms say nothing about refunds.

What ContactOut is
ContactOut is a contact finder: a Chrome extension and web portal that returns email addresses, phone numbers and social profiles for the people you look up. The company says its database covers 350 million professionals at 40 million companies, including 100 million direct-dial numbers, that every contact is triple-verified with 99 percent confidence, and that it can find details for 75 percent of people online. Treat all of those as the company’s own claims. It is SOC 2 certified and states GDPR and CCPA compliance.
The product grew up in recruiting, and it shows. The extension works inside LinkedIn Recruiter, the Team plan talks about applicant tracking systems, and the knowledge section is as much about hiring as about sales. For a cold email operation that is no bad thing: recruiters are demanding about personal email accuracy, and the pricing model suits one-person outbound teams.
ContactOut pricing
There are three self-serve plans, each limited to one user per company. The free plan gives 5 email, 5 phone and 5 export credits a day, with no card. The Email plan is $49 a month, or $468 a year, which works out to $39 a month, for unlimited emails and 300 exports a month. The Email + Phone plan is $99 a month, or $948 a year, which is $79 a month, and adds unlimited phone numbers, 600 exports a month, data enrichment and an AI email writer. A Team and API plan with more data, bulk licensing, Salesforce and applicant tracking integrations and an account manager is quoted; a page for sales teams advertises the whole team for under $299 a month, paying for credits rather than seats.
Two things on the pricing page need decoding. The struck-through $99 and $199 list prices carry no end date, so the real prices are $49 and $99. And unlimited is governed by a fair-use policy in the terms: 2,000 email credits and 1,000 phone credits per account per month. That is still cheap per credit, about 2.5 cents an email on monthly billing and under 2 cents on yearly, as long as you stay within the export caps. A toggle on the pricing page cuts the price to $25 and $49 a month if you only need profiles outside the US, Canada and the UK.
ContactOut Chrome extension and integrations
The extension is the product. It reveals work and personal emails, phone numbers and social links on LinkedIn profiles, including Recruiter, and on other profile pages, and saves them to lists. From there you can export a CSV, push to Salesforce or an applicant tracking system, enrich a spreadsheet in bulk, or send through the built-in email campaigns feature. Gmail enrichment surfaces contact details next to the messages you are reading. There is an API, and an MCP server for teams that want their own AI agents to pull contacts. The campaigns feature is basic next to a dedicated sequencer; for outbound at any real volume the dependable route is export, verify, send.
Data quality and what to do with it
The accuracy claims are strong and the free plan lets you check them against your own targets, which is the right way to judge any finder. Even so, the rule for cold email does not change: the output includes catch-all domains and people who have moved jobs, so every list goes through a verifier before it reaches a sending inbox. Our verification tool reviews cover the options, and MillionVerifier is the cheapest we have tested per address.
Who ContactOut is for, and who should look elsewhere
ContactOut suits solo founders, recruiters and one-person outbound teams that want flat-price email lookups, a strong LinkedIn extension and a free plan to test with. It is a poor fit for teams that need several seats, more than 2,000 emails a month, or intent and firmographic data to choose accounts.
ContactOut alternatives
SignalHire charges $69 a month for 1,000 email credits with unlimited users, which beats ContactOut as soon as a second person needs access. RocketReach is a per-seat finder from $27 a month billed annually. Apollo.io bundles a sequencer and a database with a free plan of 900 credits a year. The lead data category lists every finder we have reviewed with its score.
Using ContactOut with PureMail
ContactOut supplies the names. The cold email inboxes that PureMail sets up supply the sending reputation. Export the list, verify it, and load it into the sequencer your inboxes are connected to, with daily limits set for warm sending. If you use ContactOut’s own campaigns feature, confirm how it connects external Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 mailboxes before building a campaign on it; the pricing page does not say.

ContactOut FAQ
How much does ContactOut cost?
As of 5 October 2026, the Email plan is $49 a month or $468 a year, which is $39 a month, and the Email + Phone plan is $99 a month or $948 a year, which is $79 a month. A regional version that excludes profiles in the US, Canada and the UK costs $25 or $49 a month. Team and API plans are quoted, and the site advertises team access for under $299 a month.
Is ContactOut free?
There is a free plan with 5 email, 5 phone and 5 export credits a day and no card required. It includes the Chrome extension and the search portal, so you can test accuracy on a handful of your own targets before paying. The pricing page labels the free plan as a limited-time offer.
What does unlimited mean on ContactOut's paid plans?
The pricing page says unlimited emails and phones, but the terms of use apply a fair-use policy: 2,000 email credits and 1,000 phone credits per account per month unless a separate agreement says otherwise. Exports are capped separately at 300 a month on the Email plan and 600 on Email + Phone. For most one-person outbound operations the caps are generous; for a team they are not.
What does the ContactOut Chrome extension do?
The extension shows a person's work and personal emails, phone numbers and social links on LinkedIn, including Recruiter, and on other profile pages, and saves them to lists you can export or push to Salesforce or an applicant tracking system. It is included on every plan, including the free one, and it is the main way most people use the product.
Can I use ContactOut with PureMail inboxes?
Yes, as a data source. Build and export lists in ContactOut, run them through a verifier, and load them into the sequencer your PureMail inboxes are connected to. ContactOut also has a built-in email campaigns feature, but it does not supply sending infrastructure, so your inboxes and their reputation come from elsewhere.
