What Kickbox does well
- No subscription: 100 free, then credits from $5, falling to about a third of a cent each at a million.
- Unknown results are refunded, so you pay only for definitive answers.
- An API with public documentation alongside bulk uploads, plus free single-address tools.
- GDPR compliance, SOC 2 certification and verification servers and support in both the US and the EU.
- Clear pricing table and an explicit statement that volume discounts are available on request.
Where it falls short
- Credits expire one year from purchase, and the terms make all fees non-refundable with no credit for unused volume.
- No subscription tier means no monthly allowance; heavy monthly users pay full credit prices unless they negotiate.
- The 40 billion daily email signals and one-hour-per-100,000 figures are Kickbox's own claims.
- The company behind the site is J2 Martech Corp, a Ziff Davis unit, which the pricing page does not explain.
- The website terms are a master services agreement written for contracts, with JAMS arbitration under New York law.

What Kickbox is
Kickbox is an email verification service, run by J2 Martech Corp, a Ziff Davis company, that checks lists and single addresses through a web app and an API, with deliverability consulting and audits sold alongside and a set of free tools for single checks, spam scoring and disposable-domain detection. It names Reddit, The Zebra, Livestorm and Mulesoft among customers. For cold email it is the pre-send list cleaner.
Kickbox pricing explained
Credits only, no subscription, paid at checkout. The first 100 verifications are free, then 500 cost $5, 1,000 $10, 2,500 $25, 5,000 $40, 10,000 $70, 25,000 $150, 50,000 $275, 100,000 $500, 250,000 $1,100, 500,000 $1,800, 750,000 $2,400 and a million $2,999, with custom pricing and volume discounts beyond that or on request. That is a cent each at the bottom, $0.008 at 5,000, $0.005 at 100,000 and about $0.003 at a million. Unknown results are free, with the credit refunded for a later re-check. The master services agreement bills in advance, makes fees non-refundable with no credit for unused volume, expires credits one year from purchase and is governed by New York law.
Verification, API and the free tools
Lists go through the web app and Kickbox says 100,000 addresses take about an hour. The API handles real-time checks at sign-up or form submission, with public documentation, a quickstart and a usage guide, and Livestorm’s quote describes gating registrations to work emails that way. Kickbox puts its accuracy down to what it calls 40 billion email signals a day, a figure of its own, and keeps servers and support in both the US and the EU with GDPR compliance and SOC 2 certification.
What that means for cold email
Verification is the cheapest protection a cold email programme has, and Kickbox’s pricing makes it easy to buy exactly the volume a campaign needs. The two things to plan around are the one-year expiry and the no-refund terms: buy for the next few lists rather than stockpiling, and use the refunded unknowns to re-check catch-all domains later rather than sending to them blind.
Who Kickbox is for, and who should look elsewhere
Kickbox suits teams that verify lists in bursts and want simple credit pricing, an API and no monthly commitment. It is a poor fit for anyone who wants refunds on unused credits or needs them to last beyond a year. Emailable, Clearout and EmailListVerify are the credit-based rivals, ZeroBounce the larger platform and NeverBounce the other pay-as-you-go staple. The verification tools category compares them. BriteVerify is the enterprise verifier now sold through Validity without public prices. Reoon undercuts it with instant credits from $11.90 per 10,000 that never expire and 20 free checks a day. Hunter Email Verifier sells API credits at $11 per 1,000, valid 12 months, and gives 100 free checks a month.
Using Kickbox with PureMail
Verify every list before it reaches the sequencer, drop the undeliverable and risky results, and only then send through PureMail’s Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 inboxes on separate outreach domains. Low bounce rates are what keep those inboxes landing, and a cent per address is the cheapest line in the budget.

Kickbox FAQ
How much does Kickbox cost?
As of 13 October 2026, Kickbox sells verification credits with no subscription: 100 free, 500 for $5, 1,000 for $10, 2,500 for $25, 5,000 for $40, 10,000 for $70, 25,000 for $150, 50,000 for $275, 100,000 for $500, 250,000 for $1,100, 500,000 for $1,800, 750,000 for $2,400 and a million for $2,999, with custom pricing above that.
Do Kickbox credits expire?
Yes. The master services agreement states that email verification credits expire one year from the date of purchase, and the agreement itself ends 60 days after all credits have expired. Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable, with no refunds or credits for unused volume, so size each purchase to the lists you will verify within the year.
Does Kickbox charge for unknown results?
No. If Kickbox cannot return a definitive result, it refunds the credit, and you can re-verify the address later or spend the credit on another one. Verification runs through the web app for uploaded lists or through the API for real-time checks, and Kickbox also offers free single-address tools, a spam checker and a disposable email checker.
Who owns Kickbox?
The site footer credits J2 Martech Corp, a Ziff Davis company, which also holds the Kickbox trademark. The master services agreement is governed by New York law with JAMS arbitration. Kickbox says it is GDPR-compliant and SOC 2 certified, with verification servers and support teams in both the US and the EU, and that it has built email technology for over a decade.
How does Kickbox fit with PureMail?
Verify before you send. Run every new list through Kickbox, remove the undeliverable and risky addresses, then load the clean list into your sequencer connected to PureMail's Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 inboxes on separate outreach domains. Bounces damage inbox reputation fastest, and at a cent or less per address verification is cheap insurance.
