What Mailshake does well
- Unlimited warmup and unlimited email verification on every plan, including the $29 Starter, which most rivals meter or sell separately.
- Email rotation, a unified inbox and CRM integrations from the $49 Email Outreach tier, with unlimited sends.
- Sales Engagement folds in a dialer with five numbers and free North American minutes, so email and calls run in one tool.
- Users and mailboxes are decoupled: pay for three users and connect three addresses even if one person runs them.
- A long track record, concierge onboarding and deliverability training in place of a trial, and a published prorating policy.
Where it falls short
- No free trial; you pay up front and judge it afterwards, and the terms make all fees non-refundable with no pro-rata refund if you cancel mid-cycle.
- Addresses are capped per user, one on Starter and two on Email Outreach, so a fleet of inboxes means more users or the $99 tier.
- The Ready to Use Mailboxes add-on costs $11 to $12 a mailbox a month, several times the price of a Google or Microsoft inbox bought elsewhere.
- Starter's 1,500 sends a month is a hobby limit for cold email.
- Prices can change from the next billing cycle after notice, and customer data may be deleted once you stop paying.

What Mailshake is
Mailshake is a sales engagement platform from Austin, Texas, built around cold email sequences, with unlimited warmup and verification on every plan, email rotation and a unified inbox from the middle tier, and a dialer on the top one. It claims more than 100,000 sales teams, a figure of its own, and sells per user rather than per inbox or per email. For cold email it is one of the older, steadier sequencers, with a pricing quirk worth understanding: addresses are capped per user, and it sells its own mailboxes as an add-on.
Mailshake pricing explained
Per user per month, billed monthly or yearly. Starter costs $29 monthly or $25 yearly for one email address per user and 1,500 sends a month, with unlimited uploaded contacts, campaigns, warmup and verification, 50 data finder credits, sequences, A/B testing and the SHAKEspeare AI writer. Email Outreach costs $49 or $45 for two addresses per user and unlimited sends, adding email rotation, personalisation, advanced scheduling and throttling, a unified inbox, Salesforce, Pipedrive and HubSpot integrations, Zapier, a prospects view, a browser extension and template management. Sales Engagement costs $99 or $85 for ten addresses per user and unlimited sends, adding 2,500 finder credits, five phone numbers, a power dialer with unlimited free minutes to North American numbers, phone scripts, lead temperature, account views, custom tasks and a one-to-one onboarding call. The Agency plan with unlimited addresses is quoted. Add-ons: the Data Finder at $19 monthly or $17 yearly, and Ready to Use Mailboxes, auto-created sending addresses that switch over when one runs into trouble, at $12 monthly or $11 yearly per mailbox.
There is no free trial; payment is taken up front, with onboarding and training offered instead. You can cancel before the renewal date, mid-cycle changes are prorated, prices can change from the next billing cycle after notice, and the terms say customer data may be deleted once you stop paying. The terms make all fees non-refundable, with no pro-rata refund for cancelling mid-cycle.
Sequences, rotation and the mailbox add-on
Sequences run from any connected mailbox with follow-ups, A/B tests and AI-written copy; from Email Outreach, rotation spreads sends across the addresses on the account, throttling paces them and the unified inbox gathers replies with CRM sync. The Ready to Use Mailboxes add-on is Mailshake’s answer to inbox fleets: it creates addresses for you and fails over automatically, at $11 to $12 a mailbox a month. The dialer on Sales Engagement adds calls to the same cadence.
What that means for cold email
The per-user model suits a team of reps each sending from their own couple of inboxes, and the unlimited warmup and verification remove two separate bills. It fits fleets less well: twenty inboxes need ten users on Email Outreach or two on Sales Engagement, and the mailbox add-on costs several times what a Google or Microsoft inbox costs from a dedicated provider. The cheapest shape is Sales Engagement seats filled with outside inboxes on separate domains.
Who Mailshake is for, and who should look elsewhere
Mailshake suits small sales teams that want a straightforward per-user sequencer with warmup, verification and a dialer, and who do not need a trial. It is a poor fit for cold email fleets of dozens of inboxes. QuickMail prices by volume with unlimited senders, Smartlead and Instantly are built around rotation at scale, and lemlist is the multichannel alternative. The sequencers category compares them. Yesware is the inbox-based tool for reps, and SmartReach prices by prospects rather than users with warmup and rotation from Plus. Klenty starts at $50 a month, with a dialer and CRM automation on per-user plans from $70. Woodpecker charges by contacted prospects from $35 a month with unlimited accounts, free verification and a small refund window.
Mailshake’s mailboxes against PureMail inboxes
Mailshake’s Ready to Use Mailboxes cost $12 a mailbox a month, or $11 billed yearly, created for you with automatic failover. PureMail’s Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 inboxes cost $3.30 each for 10, $3.10 for 30 to 100 and $2.90 for 101 or more, set up with SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX on your own domains, and connected to Mailshake like any mailbox. The comparison below sets them side by side: PureMail wins on price and on owning the domains, and Mailshake wins on convenience inside its own platform.

Mailshake FAQ
How much does Mailshake cost?
As of 13 October 2026, per user per month: Starter $29 or $25 billed yearly for one email address and 1,500 sends, Email Outreach $49 or $45 for two addresses and unlimited sends, Sales Engagement $99 or $85 for ten addresses, a dialer and 2,500 finder credits. Add-ons are the Data Finder at $19 or $17 and Ready to Use Mailboxes at $12 or $11 each.
Does Mailshake have a free trial?
No. The FAQ says payment is collected up front, with concierge onboarding, deliverability training and support resources offered instead, and the terms allow free trials only at Mailshake's discretion. You can cancel before the renewal date to stop the next charge, but all fees are non-refundable with no pro-rata refund mid-cycle; plan changes are prorated as a charge or credit.
How many mailboxes can I connect to Mailshake?
It depends on the plan and the number of users: one email address per user on Starter, two on Email Outreach and ten on Sales Engagement, with unlimited on the Agency plan. Users and people are separate, so a team can buy three users to connect three addresses for one person. Mailshake works with Gmail, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Exchange and most SMTP and IMAP mailboxes.
What are Mailshake's Ready to Use Mailboxes?
An add-on at $12 a mailbox a month, or $11 billed yearly, that creates sending addresses for you and switches automatically to another if one runs into trouble, so you do not have to set up mailboxes by hand. It is convenient, but at $11 to $12 a mailbox it costs several times what a Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 inbox from a dedicated provider does.
How does Mailshake compare with PureMail?
They overlap only on mailboxes. Mailshake's add-on supplies auto-created addresses at $12 a month each; PureMail's Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 inboxes cost $3.30 each for 10 and $2.90 for 101 or more, with DNS configured on your own domains, and connect to Mailshake like any mailbox. Mailshake wins on having sequences, warmup, verification and a dialer in one subscription.
