What Mailreef does well

  • A dedicated server and a dedicated IP per customer, so no shared-reputation neighbours and no rotating IPs.
  • Unlimited mailboxes per server at no extra cost, which pushes the per-mailbox price down as you fill the server.
  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC are created automatically, and domains can be bought in one click or brought in.
  • API and Zapier access for creating mailboxes programmatically, plus Smartlead and Instantly integrations.
  • Live delivery-consulting chat with every plan, and a month-to-month option with no lock-in.
  • Explicitly permits cold email and screens customers, which keeps spammers off the platform.

Where it falls short

  • Not Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. You send from SMTP mailboxes on your own IP, so you own the reputation from zero and warm it yourself.
  • Expensive at small scale: 30 mailboxes cost about $9 each once the server fee is spread, against $3 to $4 at Google or Microsoft resellers.
  • The $0.001 per-send fee adds up. 150 mailboxes at Mailreef's own recommended 50 sends a day is roughly $165 a month on top of the server.
  • Mailreef advertises unlimited sending but recommends 50 emails per mailbox per day and a 1:1 cold-to-warm ratio, so the practical limits are similar to everyone else's.
  • Sales-led: a demo call is required and no self-serve checkout is published. IP location and refund terms are not stated on the pricing page.

What Mailreef is

Mailreef, LLC, part of Dabble Holdings, rents you a dedicated mail server with its own IP address and lets you create as many SMTP/IMAP mailboxes on it as the server can carry, which Mailreef puts at 150 or more. Domains can be bought in one click inside the platform or brought in, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records are created automatically, and the mailboxes connect to Smartlead, Instantly and any other tool that accepts SMTP/IMAP credentials. There is an API and a Zapier integration for creating mailboxes programmatically.

It is a sales-led product. The pricing page sends you to a demo, and Mailreef says it screens and approves every customer. The homepage claims more than 100 million emails a month, zero blocked mailboxes and 99.9% server uptime, and its Google Workspace comparison page claims deliverability that is on average 5% better than Google Workspace for cold email. Those are Mailreef’s numbers; we have not verified them.

Pricing explained

Mailreef prices the server, not the mailbox. The Agency plan is $240 a month on a 12-month commitment; Agency Flex is $249 month-to-month with no lock-in. Both add $0.001 for every email sent, and both include a dedicated IP, automatic DNS, live support, API access and monitoring. Enterprise pricing is on request.

Because mailboxes are unlimited on your server, what you actually pay per mailbox depends on how full it is. Using Mailreef’s own recommended 50 emails per mailbox per day and 22 sending days a month:

  • 30 mailboxes: $249 plus about $33 in send fees, about $9.40 per mailbox.
  • 90 mailboxes (the example in Mailreef’s own calculator): $249 plus about $99, about $3.87 per mailbox.
  • 150 mailboxes: $249 plus about $165, about $2.76 per mailbox, or $2.70 on the 12-month plan.

Two things to keep in mind. Mailreef recommends a 1:1 ratio of cold to warm-up sends, and warm-up emails are sends too, so the fee line can double if you follow that advice. And the pricing page says 150+ mailboxes per server, so the ceiling is set by server capacity rather than by your plan.

Setup and integrations

After the demo, setup is self-serve: register or connect a domain, create mailboxes in one click, and connect them to your sending tool with SMTP/IMAP credentials rather than OAuth. Smartlead and Instantly are named integrations; anything else that speaks SMTP/IMAP works too. The API and Zapier integration are aimed at agencies that spin up mailboxes for each client campaign.

Deliverability and infrastructure

The whole pitch is control. You are not sharing an IP or a server with anyone, so nobody else’s behaviour can hurt your reputation, and Mailreef explicitly permits cold email, unlike Google and Microsoft, whose terms discourage it.

The flip side is that a dedicated IP starts with no reputation at all. Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 mailboxes borrow the reputation of Google’s and Microsoft’s infrastructure from the first send; a Mailreef IP has to earn its own, which is why Mailreef recommends the 1:1 warm ratio and the 50-a-day cap. The homepage line about unlimited sending is technically true and practically irrelevant: the safe volume per mailbox is the same as everywhere else.

Who it is for, and who should look elsewhere

Mailreef makes sense for senders past roughly 20,000 cold emails a month who will fill a server with 100 or more mailboxes and want to own the whole stack. Below about 60 mailboxes the server fee makes each mailbox expensive, and teams that specifically want Google or Microsoft mailboxes are not the customer.

Why PureMail beats Mailreef for most teams, and where Mailreef wins

For anything up to about 140 mailboxes PureMail is cheaper per mailbox and the mailboxes are real Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 accounts with DNS and the sequencer connection done for you: $3.30 each for 10, $3.10 for 30 to 100 and $2.90 for 101 or more, with no send fees and no demo call. Mailreef at 30 mailboxes costs about three times as much per mailbox.

Mailreef wins once a server is close to full, where it drops to about $2.70 per mailbox, and for teams that want a dedicated IP, unlimited mailbox creation, an API and a provider whose terms explicitly allow cold email. If owning the server matters more to you than Google’s and Microsoft’s reputation and done-for-you setup, Mailreef is the right pick. The table below puts both side by side.

Mailreef FAQ

How much does Mailreef cost?

As of September 2026 Mailreef charges $240 a month per dedicated server on a 12-month commitment, or $249 month-to-month, plus $0.001 for every email sent. Each server supports 150 or more mailboxes at no extra cost, so the price per mailbox depends on how full the server is: about $9 each at 30 mailboxes and about $2.70 each at 150, including send fees at 50 emails a day.

Are Mailreef mailboxes Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?

No. Mailreef runs its own dedicated mail servers and gives you SMTP and IMAP mailboxes on a dedicated IP address. They connect to Smartlead, Instantly and any tool that accepts SMTP/IMAP credentials, but they do not carry Google's or Microsoft's sender reputation, so the IP has to be warmed from scratch.

What is the minimum order at Mailreef?

One server, which means $240 or $249 a month before send fees. There is no smaller plan on the pricing page; the For Teams of One page points solo operators to the same month-to-month server plan.

Does Mailreef include email warmup?

Warmup is not a bundled service. Because each customer gets a fresh dedicated IP, Mailreef recommends warming it and keeping a 1:1 ratio of cold to warm sends, with at most 3 mailboxes per domain and 50 emails per mailbox per day.

Is Mailreef cheaper than PureMail?

Only when a server is nearly full. At 30 mailboxes Mailreef works out at about $9 per mailbox and at 100 about $3.60, including send fees, against PureMail's $3.10 for 30 to 100 Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 inboxes. At 150 mailboxes on one server Mailreef drops to roughly $2.70, just under PureMail's $2.90 rate for 101 or more. The two are different products: Mailreef is a dedicated SMTP server you manage, PureMail is Google and Microsoft inboxes set up for you.
