What Spaceship does well
- Among the cheapest .com pricing anywhere: $8.88 the first year and an honest $9.98 renewal, with .net flat at $11.20.
- WHOIS privacy, auto-renewal and DNS are free, and every transfer in comes with a year's renewal.
- A documented public API covers registration, availability checks, domain settings, transfers, contacts and DNS records, with scoped keys for each.
- Spacemail gives a cheap real inbox on a secondary domain from $0.98 a month after a 30-day trial, handy for reply handling.
- An ICANN-accredited registrar run by Spaceship, Inc. from the same Phoenix address as Namecheap, serving customers since 2022.
Where it falls short
- Domain registrations and renewals are non-refundable; a new registration can be refunded only at Spaceship's discretion, for a valid reason, within 5 days, and never if it was bought on a promotion.
- Most of the eye-catching first-year prices are promotions that renew at several times the entry price: .co at $31.05, .online at $15.08, .io at $51.75.
- The $0.20 ICANN fee is listed separately, so the headline price is not the checkout price on most extensions.
- The company is young by registrar standards, with no official YouTube channel content and help pages that block automated readers.
- It sells domains and inboxes for one person, not cold email infrastructure: no warm-up, no sequencer connection, no placement tests.

What Spaceship is
Spaceship is an ICANN-accredited domain registrar run by Spaceship, Inc. from Phoenix, Arizona, at the same address as Namecheap, and serving customers since 2022. It sells domains at some of the lowest prices in the market, bundles free WHOIS privacy and DNS, and adds a business email service called Spacemail, web hosting, an AI site builder and a domain aftermarket. For cold email it is a candidate for the job every registrar is judged on here: cheap .com and .net secondary domains, kept private, renewed without surprises, and manageable in bulk.
Spaceship domain pricing
Prices are per domain per year in US dollars, and most extensions add a $0.20 ICANN fee shown in its own column. A .com costs $8.88 for the first year on sale, against a list price of $9.66, renews at $9.98 and transfers in for $9.48 on sale or $9.98 at list. A .net is $11.20 to register, renew and transfer. A .org is $6.65 on sale or $11.39 at list, and renews at $11.39. The promotional extensions are where the table turns: .xyz at $1.86 renews at $13.77, .online at $0.98 renews at $15.08, .co at $4.98 renews at $31.05 and .io at $31.98 renews at $51.75, while .ai is $79.98 at every step with no ICANN fee. Transfers in include a year’s renewal, and Spacemail business email costs from $0.98 a month after a 30-day free trial.
Domains auto-renew by default. The refund policy, updated in September 2026, says registration and renewal fees are non-refundable even if a domain is cancelled or transferred early; a new registration may be refunded at Spaceship’s discretion for a valid reason if cancelled within 5 days, promotional purchases are never refundable, and failed transfers are refunded automatically.
Setup, DNS and the API
Buying is a search, a cart and a checkout, with bulk transfer for moving a portfolio in. DNS is free and managed in a panel Spaceship calls Unbox, where SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX records go in by hand, or you point the domain at your inbox provider’s nameservers. The public API, documented at docs.spaceship.dev, covers domain listing and details, availability checks, registration, renewal and restoration, domain settings, transfers, contacts and DNS records, each behind scoped permissions such as domains:write and dnsrecords:write, so a provider or a script can register and configure outreach domains in a batch.
Cold email considerations
Buy .com, with .net as the fallback. Both are flat-priced to renew, both are what filters expect to see, and the promotional extensions that cost under $5 on day one cost $13 to $31 a year afterwards and look like what they are. Keep privacy on, leave auto-renew on for domains that are sending, and treat every purchase as final, because the refund window is five days, discretionary, and closed to promotional prices. Spaceship supplies the domain and, through Spacemail, a cheap inbox for replies; the cold email inboxes, warm-up and sequencer come from elsewhere.
Who Spaceship is for, and who should look elsewhere
Spaceship suits anyone buying outreach domains who wants .com close to cost with a sane renewal, free privacy and an API for bulk work. It is a poor fit for buyers of bargain extensions for outreach, or for anyone who expects to refund a domain bought by mistake. Porkbun charges a little more for .com but gives a 96-hour refund window, and Cloudflare sells at cost with no refunds and its own nameservers only. The email platforms and registrars category lists the rest.
Using Spaceship with PureMail
PureMail asks you to bring your own domains and works with any registrar. Register the outreach domains at Spaceship with privacy on, keep their DNS there or point the nameservers where PureMail asks, and hand them to PureMail, whose team configures SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX for the Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 inboxes it supplies. Spacemail on the same domain is a reasonable place to catch replies when a domain has no PureMail inbox of its own.

Spaceship FAQ
How much does a .com cost on Spaceship?
As of 9 October 2026, a .com costs $8.88 for the first year on sale, or $9.66 at list price, renews at $9.98 a year and transfers in for $9.48 on sale or $9.98 at list, plus a $0.20 ICANN fee. A .net is $11.20 to register, renew and transfer, and a .org is $6.65 on sale for the first year then $11.39. WHOIS privacy and DNS are free.
Does Spaceship refund domains?
As a rule, no. The refund policy says domain registration and renewal fees are non-refundable even if the domain is cancelled or transferred early. A new registration may be refunded at Spaceship's discretion if you cancel it for a valid reason within 5 days, or 120 hours, of registering, but anything bought at a promotional price is excluded, and failed transfers are refunded automatically.
Is WHOIS privacy free on Spaceship?
Yes. Every domain includes free domain privacy that keeps the registrant's details out of public WHOIS records, and domains are set to auto-renew by default so an outreach domain does not lapse mid-campaign. Both matter for cold email, where a domain that expires or exposes personal details takes its reputation and your sender identity with it.
Does Spaceship have an API?
Yes. The public API, documented at docs.spaceship.dev, covers domain listing and details, availability checks, registration, renewal and restoration, domain settings, transfers, contacts and DNS records, each behind scoped permissions such as domains:write or dnsrecords:write. That lets an inbox provider or your own script register and configure a batch of outreach domains without clicking through the dashboard.
Can I use Spaceship domains with PureMail?
Yes. PureMail asks you to bring your own domains from any registrar. Register the outreach domains at Spaceship with privacy on, keep DNS there or point the nameservers where PureMail asks, and PureMail's team configures SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX for the Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 inboxes it supplies. Keep auto-renew on for domains you intend to keep sending from.
